There are some essential requirements to be named a 'Responsible Person in charge. These include;

Essential requirements,
- Must be willing to be placed in day-to-day charge of the Education and Care Service.
- Must accept the role of Responsible Person In Charge in writing.
- Must be over the age of 18 years.
- Meet the minimum requirements for qualification, experience and management capabilities.
- Have a clear understanding of the role.
- Are fit and proper persons.
- Are provided with and have signed a written consent that the Responsible Person role has been accepted.
- Interchanges with the Nominated Supervisor in their absence
- Ensure current training and knowledge of child protection Law/Legislation.
- Are aware that they have to sign off when they have finished their duty and ensure that the Nominated Supervisor or another appointed Responsible Person signs on, taking on the role of Responsible Person.
- The Responsible Person record lists the name of the Responsible Person at the centre for each time that children are being educated and cared for by the centre.
- The appointed Responsible Persons sign their name and present time on the RPIC Register Form.
Giggletree request a minimum of 3 years experience working as an Educator in an Education and Care Service (desired but not compulsory) and that the Responsible Person is able to do early and late shifts when necessary.
